Information we use

Little Lessons provides accounts, story listening and purchase support for parents and caregivers. We use these records to run that service:

  • Account details. Your email and sign-in credentials support account creation, confirmation, sign-in and password recovery. Your account has an identifier and timestamps, and may have a display name if you supplied one.
  • Purchases and membership. Story and version references, amounts, payment and refund outcomes, membership renewal state and verified paid periods let us provide the correct access and resolve billing questions.
  • Listening progress. Saved positions let you return to where you left off in purchased or membership stories. Public previews do not create an account listening-history record.
  • Support and privacy messages. Our support inbox receives your message and the details you choose to include. Contact buttons open an email draft; the website does not send it for you.
  • Technical and security information. Website requests, browser and network details, sign-in activity and limited staff-access records help deliver the service, prevent abuse and investigate problems.

Authorized staff use account and payment information to support customers and operate the service. Creating an account or making a purchase does not subscribe you to marketing emails. Marketing signup and sending are not currently offered.

Signup does not ask for a child’s name, birthday, school, photograph or voice. See children’s privacy information for the family listening experience.

Services involved

  • Supabase provides account authentication, application records, private audio storage and database backups.
  • Stripe provides hosted checkout and billing. Payment details are entered on Stripe’s pages. Little Lessons stores payment references and outcomes, not payment-card numbers.
  • Resend delivers account and operational emails and receives messages sent to our support inbox.
  • Vercel hosts the website and processes requests to deliver its pages and services.
  • Meta provides optional advertising measurement on our home, pricing, about and how-it-works pages. If you confirm you are 18 or older and allow advertising, its Pixel can receive a page-view event, page information, an ad-click identifier when present, advertising-cookie identifiers and browser, device and network information such as your IP address. Meta may use this information to measure and personalize advertising under its privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile checks account forms for automated abuse using technical information such as browser and network details.

These providers also process technical information, including IP addresses and browser or request details, to deliver and protect their services. Provider records can have their own security or legal retention requirements.

The customer website does not offer AI chat, personalized story generation or voice uploads. Editorial story creation is a separate workflow; this site does not send your account information to a story-writing model.

Your browser and listening session

Essential account cookies keep you signed in and support confirmation and password-recovery links. The player uses a temporary browser signal to clear private playback in other tabs when you sign out. That signal does not contain your story text or listening history.

Search terms and selected filters appear in the page address so you can return to a search. Avoid putting personal information into searches. Blocking account cookies can prevent sign-in from working.

Optional advertising measurement is off until you choose to allow it. It is limited to the four parent-facing pages listed above. The Pixel does not load on story browsing or listening pages, your library, account, sign-in, payment or support forms. We do not supply Meta with customer emails, account identifiers, child details, form answers, story choices, listening progress or purchase events. Advertising measurement is not anonymous; essential hosting, account and payment providers also keep operational records.

Advertising choices and browser signals

Use Advertising choices in the footer to allow or decline optional advertising measurement, or to change your choice later. Declining does not prevent access to the service. Your choice is remembered in this browser until you change it or clear its stored data. A session cookie also records a decline, including when longer-term browser storage is unavailable; that fallback lasts for the browser session. Neither choice record is linked to your account or subscribes you to marketing emails. Other browsers and devices have their own choices.

We keep this advertising measurement off when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, even if you previously allowed it. Essential account, security and operational processing continues. Withdrawing permission stops further measurement through this integration; it does not erase events already received by Meta. You can contact us with a privacy request using the options below.

How long we keep information

The Little Lessons owner oversees retention and privacy-request reviews. We keep information for the purposes below and remove eligible records under this schedule.

Active accounts and listening progress
Kept while needed to provide your account and access. After a verified, explicitly confirmed permanent closure, we remove sign-in credentials, optional profile details and listening progress within 30 days, after billing is resolved and existing access tokens have expired. A pseudonymous account reference remains where needed for retained payment records.
Ordinary support correspondence
Eligible copies are deleted no later than 12 months after the case closes. Necessary payment or dispute evidence follows the financial-record schedule below.
Privacy-request completion records
A minimal record of verification, scope, decision and completion is kept for 24 months. It does not need passwords, identity documents or unnecessary message contents.
Payment, refund and dispute records
Essential accounting and claim records are kept for 7 years from the relevant transaction or case closure. We then review and delete eligible personal details. This is our retention period, not a claim that every record is legally required for seven years.
Routine security and staff-access records
Kept for up to 12 months. Specific incident evidence is separated when still needed, with a documented review date. Provider technical logs may expire sooner.
Backups containing customer information
Scheduled database backups follow Supabase’s retention window. Separate database backups we hold are kept no longer than 90 days and restricted from ordinary use. Completed deletions are reapplied before a restored copy serves customers. Shared story recordings and covers are preserved separately to support purchased editions.

Deletion does not immediately erase every backup or provider record. Provider legal and security requirements and specifically documented legal holds are handled separately; they do not extend the retention of all records by default. We explain relevant retained information when completing a request.

Your information and your choices

In Your information, signed-in customers can download an account summary. It is not a complete copy of records held by every provider. You can contact us to request additional information, a correction or deletion, or to raise a child-privacy concern without creating an account.

Requests are reviewed by a person. We verify appropriate authority before disclosing private information or changing an account. Account deletion is not automatic.

Permanent account closure ends sign-in and library access, including individually purchased stories. We explain this consequence and ask for your explicit confirmation before proceeding. Confirmed closure also stops future membership renewal. It does not itself create an automatic refund; our refund policy still applies.

To keep your purchases and simply stop membership renewal, use Your membership. Ordinary cancellation preserves individual purchases. An initial privacy inquiry does not itself change renewal, access or payment status.

Changes to this notice

We update the date above when this notice changes and explain material changes here or through an appropriate account notice. New features that change how information is used will be described before they are introduced.

Questions about your information

Ask about your account information, request a correction or deletion, or report information submitted by a child.

Start with a brief description. Send account requests from your account email when possible. Keep passwords, card details, identity documents and unnecessary information about a child out of your message.

An email starts a request for review. It does not automatically delete an account, cancel membership or issue a refund.
